Before you upload a few terabytes
Is there really no throttling?
Really. We don’t shape traffic per account, and there are no daily upload or download limits. Your speed is set by your own connection. The only limit is fair use on sustained transfers above 5 Gbit/s, which we’ve never had to enforce.
What happens if I forget my password?
Your files are encrypted with keys we never see, so we can’t reset access for you. When you create an account you get a recovery key — keep it somewhere safe. With the recovery key, or any device that is still signed in, you can set a new password.
Can I use my own tools instead of the client?
On the Archive plan, yes. The WebDAV and S3-compatible gateway works with rclone, restic and most backup software. Files uploaded through the gateway are encrypted by the gateway rather than by your device, and the dashboard marks them that way.
Where are my files stored?
In the region you pick when you sign up: Frankfurt, Helsinki or Amsterdam. Each block is stored three times across two availability zones within that region.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Monthly plans stop at the end of the period. Yearly plans are refunded pro rata if you cancel in the first 30 days. After cancelling, your files stay available read-only for 30 days so you can download them.
How can I pay?
Cards and SEPA direct debit, handled by our payment processor. We don’t store card numbers ourselves.
