Privacy policy
The short version: your files are encrypted before they reach us, we keep as little account data as we can, and we don’t sell or share any of it.
What we can’t see
File contents, file names and folder structure are encrypted on your devices with keys derived from your password. We store encrypted blocks and cannot read them. We cannot scan, index or hand over the contents of your files, because we don’t have the keys.
What we keep
- Your email address and a hash of your login credentials.
- Billing details, held by our payment processor. We only see the last four digits of a card.
- Per-device metadata: device name, client version, last connection time and total bytes stored.
- Service logs with IP addresses, kept for 14 days for abuse prevention and debugging, then deleted.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, analytics or tracking scripts on this site or in the apps.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties.
- No moving data out of the region you chose.
Your rights
You can export or delete your account at any time from the web app. Deleting an account removes all blocks within 30 days, including from backups. For any request about your personal data, write to privacy@cratewell.site.
Terms of service
The service
Cratewell provides encrypted storage, sync and version history for your files. We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service, except where a written SLA applies to your plan.
Your account
You’re responsible for your password and recovery key. Because of end-to-end encryption, losing both means losing access to your files, and we can’t help with that.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Cratewell to break the law, to distribute malware, or to resell storage to others. Fair use applies to sustained transfers above 5 Gbit/s.
Billing & cancellation
Plans renew automatically until cancelled. Yearly plans cancelled within 30 days are refunded pro rata. After cancellation your files stay available read-only for 30 days.
